Employee's want more training

A recent survey* asked employees about their learning experiences with their employer as well as outside of work:

  • 86% said that training was important for them and most of them would happily study outside work hours.
  • 59% state that training improved their job performance.
  • 51% experienced a boost in self-confidence directly as a result of training.

Alongside all the other benefits of training we often read about such as direct correlation between training and profitability as well as employee retention; there is no surprise why organisations who invest in training often prove to be more successful.

Ultimately, the real question remains, what is the real cost of not investing in high quality training for your employees?

My journey started at college over 20 years ago when I enrolled to do a bookkeeping course. From there, I studied AAT Level 2, 3 and 4 as a day release student. During my AAT studies I started teaching at college, at first delivering Sage and then progressing to AAT.

I worked in an accounting practice for 14 years, before moving into education work and I have also worked as Vice Chair for an awarding organisation and Chair of Audit and Finance.

Since studying AAT, I have completed an assessor’s qualification, CertEd teaching qualification and completed all ACCA exams, which has been challenging being a single parent and being very busy with work commitments.

I proudly work with e-Careers as a trainer and student mentor across a wide range of accounting and bookkeeping courses.
